What is a Mi-Ki, Anyway?

  • Mi-Kis come in two coat types: long and smooth.

  • Long coat Mi-Kis have a single coat of non-shedding hair, rather than fut. They tend to be more hypo-allergenic than most breeds.

  • Their very expressive ears can be either "down," "winged," or "up."

  • They are lap-dogs when you want to relax, but playful and ready to go when you are.

  • Mi-kis are amazing companions, happy, sweet and intelligent!

  • When well-socialized, they are friendly and good with gentle children and other animals. These qualities make them the perfect companion breed!

  • Mi-Kis tend to be calmer and quieter than many toy breeds.

Brief History of the Mi-Ki

The Mi-Ki is a wonderful rare toy breed, usually ranging between 4-8 lbs. It was developed in the USA fairly recently in the 1980s. Although the exact origin of the breed is a bit of a mystery, it is generally believed that they share a common ancestry with several European and Asian breeds.
